Delete your account.
This page explains how to delete your synkd account (used in the synkd web portal and the Android and iOS apps, published by The Small Apps), what we delete, and what has to be kept by law.
If you are an employee
Your account was created by your employer, which controls your employee records. You can ask for deletion in either of these ways:
- ask your company’s HR or synkd administrator to remove you; they can deactivate your account and erase your personal data from the web portal;
- or e-mail hello@synkd.in from the work e-mail address you sign in with, with the subject “Delete my account” and your company’s name. We confirm the request with you and inform your employer.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
If you run your company’s account
An administrator can close the whole organisation’s account by writing to hello@synkd.in from an administrator’s e-mail address. You can export your data for 30 days after closing; see our Terms of Service.
What is deleted
- your sign-in details, profile and contact details;
- selfies, uploaded documents and photos;
- your notification tokens and app settings;
- leave requests, approvals and other records that the law does not require your employer to keep.
We complete deletion within 30 days of confirming the request. Copies in backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
What is kept, and for how long
Indian law requires employers to keep some records after an employee leaves, such as payroll, payslips, tax (TDS), PF, ESI and the attendance used to calculate wages. These are kept, with access restricted, for the period the law requires, and then deleted. Your personal identifiers that are not needed for these records are removed.
